Antonín Dvořák Museum

Earlier this week Teresa and I had the pleasure of visiting the quaint and beautiful exhibition honoring the world renowned Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák. This exhibition is located in a beautiful villa type house called the Baroque villa in Prague’s New Town, which was built in the early 18th century!

Walking through the villa doors, we experienced a different energy than the “normal” exhibitions. This felt more welcoming, almost like we were walking into a familiar home. As we started on the first floor of the exhibition, there were personal items of Antonín Dvořák and with each display there were boards with background information of the amazing composers life (both english and czech translations).

The Museum did a fantastic job with the flow of the exhibit, as we walked through, display to display, we really felt as if we were traveling through Antonín Dvořák’s life. On the second floor of the villa, there is a beautifully decorated preforming room with a piano and viewing seats. There is also a interactive board, that has the history of Antonín Dvořák’s life charted out. You can also listen to some of his incredible work.

This museum was refreshing and unique from the others we have visited. We loved the villa setting, learning more about Antonín Dvořák’s life, and his impact on the world of music. This is definitely worth the visit.
